Lakeview Elementary School

We are Looking Forward to an Awsome Month of PE

Here are the things to know in January:

Celebrations:  We had a blast with JustDance, flexibility, and tumbling in December. It was so fun to watch the students come out of their shells and be creative. To help them keep progressing, I’ll incorporate some of the tumbling skills into stations throughout the rest of the year.

Curriculum: For the majority of January, we’ll be working on basketball skills and games. The students have been loving this so far!

On January 29th, a coach from the Junior Warriors Rugby Club will be coming to teach the kids (safe) rugby. After the coach leaves, I’ll continue teaching rugby for the rest of that week.

Playworks: We are bringing Playworks back to Lakeview! The Playworks program focuses on building healthy habits of play during P.E. and recess, teamwork, and conflict resolution skills. We’re very excited about Playworks and how it will help our students to grow! The first visit from our Playworks coach will be next Wednesday, January 10th. Here’s a link to the Playworks website if you’d like to learn more.
