Medieval Times

Mr. Hollingshead’s sixth-graders wrapped up their medieval studies unit with a medieval tournament.  Students created their own castles, helmets, and shields – while Mr. Hollingshead modeled the original PPE (Person Protective Equipment). After enjoying a royal feast, students used catapults to attempt to breach their competitor’s castle walls. Lastly, participants took on one another in bouncy jousting. At the end of the tournament, the champion was rewarded with the tournament helmet.

We’d like to say that Mr. Hollingshead dressed up for the event but that’s pretty much his Wednesday attire.
