PTA Helps Lakeview Focus on Safety

Have you noticed in the mornings and afternoons during drop-off and pick-up, things can get a little busy and crowded? There are times when we are all in a hurry or running late, of course! There is a high amount of road and foot traffic during these times, and our awesome PTA is helping us this week by focusing on how to be safe during this time.

Parent Volunteers will be Helping in the Mornings and Afternoons this Week

To coordinate with what we are teaching our students, we will be having parent volunteers outside the school at drop-off and pick-up all week. They will be reminding parents and students to follow the school’s rules for our drop off and pickup loop in front of the school. Some may even have candy to give those who are following the rules!

Drop-Off and Pick-Up Rules for the Loop

  • Stay in your car. Do not leave your car unattended.
  • Only cross at crosswalks. Do not cross traffic anywhere else.
  • Only drop off and pick up students in the lane closest to the curb by the school. Do not encourage your children to run out into the flow lane.
  • There are only 2 lanes in the loop. Please do not create a third lane—doing so increases the risk to our students.
  • We also ask that parents do not sit in their cars in the drop-off lane. Once you have dropped off your child, please exit the drop-off lane to help keep traffic moving.

Thank you for your help and support in our desire to keep our beloved students safe, as well as helping to teach them safe practices. Safety in our schools is a joint effort that we cannot achieve without you!
