Provo City School District

Lakeview Elementary School

As you have probably heard by now, I will be retiring at the end of this school year. After 30 years in public education, 24 as a teacher and 6 as an administrator, I have decided now is a good time for this to happen. Our superintendent spoke with our faculty and there was unanimous support for Dr. Jamie Davis-Leite to be appointed as our new principal with Brian Mangum as the new assistant principal. Both have many years of experience to draw on and will be great leaders for Lakeview.

I want to thank everyone for your support while I have been here. Knowing that Dr. Davis-Leite and Mr. Mangum will be taking over puts me at ease with the decision. Lakeview is a great school and a great place to work. It is a vital part of the neighborhood. We are lucky when compared to other schools around Provo. We have great community support, many of our employees live in the neighborhood, and our students and teachers are top notch! When I decided to become a principal, Lakeview was at the top of my list for places to work and it hasn’t disappointed.

As I transition to the next phase of life, I am full of gratitude for these last few years. It hasn’t been easy going through COVID and all of the craziness with masks, mandates, online learning, etc. We have learned a lot of lessons and hopefully the worst of it is now behind us.

I want to thank you for raising great children. Their smiles, waves, stories, pictures, and great attitudes will be fond memories. You are raising a great generation of kids. I will miss my daily interactions with them.

Thanks again for your support and making me feel so welcomed at Lakeview. I will always be a Lakeview Lion at heart!
