Mrs. Hart’s student teacher, Mrs. Hall, found a way to make math more appetizing for third-graders.

Using cheese crackers, Mrs. Hall provided a fun way to explore perimeter and area in a recent math lesson.  Students learned to add all sides to find the perimeter of a shape. They also discovered that they could multiply the length and width to figure out the area. They confirmed their calculations by counting how many crackers it took to fill the area of a rectangle.

Great job Mrs. Hall.
