Cordel is a very common literary genre in northeastern Brazil. It is a type of text that tells different stories with rhyme. On the cover of Cordel books, there is always a “Xilogravura”, which is a technique made with wood and black ink, stamped on paper. The Cordel books are usually displayed on clotheslines.   The 4th-grade DLI students did a great job writing their Cordel texts and making their “xilogravuras” to stamp the cover of their books.
