Lakeview Elementary School

The Provo School District Wellness Department and Grounds Department arranged to plant two trees in front of Lakeview.  The wellness program provides year-round encouragement and support to our faculty and staff. It is no surprise that they would also focus on the overall wellness of Mother Earth.

Mrs. Hart’s and Mr. Rowley’s classes enthusiastically pitched in to get the job done. Our Library lesson this week focused on Earth Day and how we can better serve our planet. The students were excited to be able to help plant the new trees. They cheerfully dug holes, planted, and watered the trees.  It is our hope that these students will be able to look at these trees for years to come and remember the day they helped plant them.

While waiting for their turn, the students discovered seed pods from nearby trees. They were fascinated with the giant snake-like pods and gather seeds to take home. It would be great to see new trees sprouting up in the neighborhood as a result of their efforts.
