Lakeview Elementary School

This week, Lakeview welcomed Rachel and Conlon Bonner who presented a schoolwide assembly for Black History Month. The assembly also focused on acceptance and inclusion for all students – we all have a story.

The Bonners have four children currently attending Lakeview, and together the family presented an African song that Mr. Bonner’s family sang when he was a child.

As an example of getting to know one another, two students were invited to sit in the “Hot Seat” where they answered questions that allowed others to know more about them.

Mrs. Bonner  shared the latest book authored by the couple, Ruby Disappears: A CULTIVATE Series,  “Ruby Disappears is a captivating real life story of resilience and courage in the face of bullying. This powerful narrative reminds us we are not alone in our struggles and encourages us to find strength within ourselves. This alternate ending book will leave you pondering the power of choices and the impact they have on our lives.”
