Lakeview Elementary Fifth Graders Perform Their Own Field Research

Our fifth-grade classes took advantage of a local resource to review for their upcoming Utah State Science Test. After studying how man-made changes to the Provo River have impacted the native June Sucker,  students, teachers, and a few parent volunteers, hiked the 1.3 miles from Lakeview School to the site of the new Provo River Delta Restoration Project.  The students used their observations to develop a greater understanding of things they’ve been learning in the classroom. Their teachers feel that this experience will benefit their students as they take the state science test next week.
